On December 3rd, at approximately 4:20 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the intersection of 6th St and Menaul Blvd NW for reports of a possible commercial structure fire.

AFR Engine 1 arrived on scene at 416 Menaul Blvd to find a medium-sized commercial structure with active fire showing from the roof and interior. Crews made an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control within 14 minutes of arrival. The west half of the building sustained significant heat and fire damage.

No injuries were reported for any civilians or firefighters.   

The cause has been determined to be accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
