Albuquerque –
30-year-old Keenan Rave of Albuquerque entered the Kirtland Credit Union on April 1st, 2025. He handed a bank teller a note:
“Call the police I have a gun” (sic)
According to a criminal complaint, Rave left the bank and went to a parked vehicle. The Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched to the bank and found Rave in the vehicle.
The complaint goes on to say APD officers observed him with what looked like a firearm. Rave made suicidal statements that he would end his life because he would be doing federal time for the bank robbery he just committed. He also admitted that he wanted to die by suicide by cop. During the long interaction with officers, he would take turns putting a gun into his mouth and drank an alcoholic beverage.
The complaint says that at one point he told officers he needed to pee and then he stepped out of the vehicle to urinate beside his car and then returned to the vehicle.
APD officers worked as a team to talk him out of his plan to self-harm and he eventually peacefully surrendered. He smoked a cigarette before exiting. Rave exited the vehicle and made sure to chug the remaining alcoholic beverage to completion.
Rave is charged with felony armed robbery, shooting threat, and negligent use of a deadly weapon.
As of this publication, Rave has not yet been charged federally with the bank robbery.
As always, anyone named is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Sadly, a common story of another lost young man. All the problems people in NM have boil down to the lousy loser failed education system…
Education is whatever you make of it…Read a book growing up and maybe you won’t be illiterate and go to school…simple as that…kids that drop out are stupid and illiterate and end up as felons and they and their parents blame others….no one told you to be stupid…Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in this state…stupid people having kids makes stupid juveniles who don’t care about education….starts with parents …people always make sure to point out blame
We have a serious mental health issue in New Mexico. It’s across the entire spectrum from teens to our elected leaders. Take Tim Keller for example…frickin idiot thinks he deserves a third term after all the crime, homelessness, and filth this city has become under his administration. The definition of insanity, doing something over and over expecting different results.
