Fatal Crash Investigation in NW ABQ

APD says their officers are investigating a serious-injury crash in the area of Coors Bypass and Ellison Dr., N.W., The road closure is directly affecting West Side traffic heading to the park-and-ride lot at Cottonwood Mall.

APD is currently shutting down the entire intersection of Coors Bypass and Ellison Dr. for the safety of officers who are investigating the crash. Drivers are urged to avoid the area, which is northwest of Cottonwood Mall. 

Officers responded to the two-vehicle crash around 3:15 a.m. One vehicle rolled over and a man was trapped inside. Rescue units arrived and transported the man to a local hospital in critical condition.

APD’s Motors Unit is investigating the crash.
