Albuquerque –
Shortly after 8:40 PM, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Central Ave SE following reports of a fight in progress and a person shot. According to the caller, the suspects fled the area after the shooting.
The witness saw the offenders flee on scooters.
Before officers arrived, the victim was seen attempting to flag down bystanders for assistance. When APD officers arrived, they found an person with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue transported the person to a local hospital as a “scoop and run,” which typically indicates a critical or life-threatening injury.
APD is searching for the suspects.

Update:
The person who was shot has reportedly been stabilized and taken in for surgery.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) was purportedly being called out to investigate.
