Today, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office officials, numerous public safety members and the community came together to honor the final crash victim, Deputy Michael Levison, of the Metro 2 BCSO helicopter crash. Deputy Levison’s call sign was 218 and he was a tactical flight officer for Metro 2. City and state Leaders along with family members shared stories about his life during the memorial.

The four first responders who died on Metro 2
On July 16th, 2022, the BCSO Metro 2 helicopter crashed in Northern New Mexico while finishing up fighting a fire with ground crews.
Deputy Levison served in the New Mexico Air National Guard, then served with BCSO for five years before his death. He is survived by his parents, stepmother, three brothers, a sister, grandmother and girlfriend.
