Alfonso Gallegos recounts to ABQRAW about a terrifying event on his morning walk
NE ABQ – On August 1st, 2022 Alfonso Gallegos was out for his morning exercises in his neighborhood near Jerry Cline park/tennis complex when he became a random victim of violent crime.
Videos from a residents security camera captured the moments when a white Dodge truck drove up behind Gallegos at a high rate of speed and tried to run him over. When Gallegos got up and ran away the offender from the truck fired a round at him with a rifle.
Mr. Gallegos had no clue who these people in the truck were and he does this same walk/run daily in what he believes is a safe neighborhood. Alfonso is typically legally armed and has a concealed carry license for his firearm when he walks but on this date he was not able to protect himself with his firearm since everything happened so fast.
Alfonso is asking the public to call police with any tips or information about the truck or the offenders driving it. Crimestoppers is a good way to call police and stay anonymous.
