Albuquerque, NM – A Bernalillo County district court jury has convicted Andres Gonzales-Gaytan of 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration of a child under 13, 2 counts of attempted Criminal Sexual Penetration of a child under 13, 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a minor child under 13 and bribery. Gonzales-Gaytan brutally raped a 9 year-old girl in 2018, leaving her with a sexually transmitted infection and he also threatened her life to not to tell anyone about the rape. Gonzales-Gaytan gave the victim chlamydia during the brutal/violent and heinous crime of the child. Sentencing will take place a month from now on April 27th, 2023. Gonzales-Gaytan will face up to 99 years in prison for this crime.
Judge Jennifer J. Wernersbach will decide next month if the 99 years will be appropriate for the crime.
