Gun Pointing Cretins Lead APD on All Day Chase

On August 28th, 2025, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call at 6900 Central Ave SE, which is the, Smoke City smoke shop. The call was about a person pointing a gun at someone inside the shop and another man hitting them. Witnesses described the suspects and a black Mercedes sedan was the getaway vehicle.

According to a criminal complaint, APD officers quickly responded to the area and the car almost wrecked into an APD police unit as it fled. At the same time, officers were able to identify one of the suspect as 30-year-old Corsinio Martinez of Albuquerque. A witness said, Martinez has a Facebook profile and is known to sell drugs and has money. The other male was identified as 26-year-old Raymundo Chavez of Albuquerque.

The car drove very dangerously through Albuquerque streets going into on coming traffic, hitting high rates of speed, and tossing evidence out the window. They were also avoiding APD officers attempts at stop sticks.

The chase went to the Southwest area of Albuquerque and APD lost visual of the the car and the pursuit was called off.

Due to the severity of fleeing law enforcement and the felony charges a pursuit was authorized. APD officers tried to pull over the vehicle and it fled through downtown Albuquerque. A few victims said they had a gun pointed at them produced from inside the Mercedes in the downtown area.

A few hours went by and APD got a tip on where the black Mercedes was stashed. According to the criminal complaint, officers went to a Southwest home and observed the car with the two individuals inside it. The car took off again for another attempt to elude APD. This time APD’s air support was the ace-in-the-hole.

The duo drove at a high rate of speed and tried to avoid APD for a second time. Air support called out the vehicle to officers and the Mercedes pulled into a home at the 1200 block of Sunset RD SW. The two fled into a shed and tried to hide from officers. Officers held on the shed until shortly after the pair inside gave up.

Chavez was charged with 4 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving, tampering with evidence, and, receipt, transportation or possession of a firearm destructive device by a felon.

Martinez the passenger was charged with receipt, transportation, or possession of a firearm destructive device by a felon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
