Homicide Investigation Underway After Fatal Altercation at Southwest Albuquerque Apartment Complex

ALBUQUERQUE – Detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department are investigating the death of a person involved in an altercation at an apartment complex located at 2300 Diamond Mesa Tr. S.W.

Southwest Area Command officers responded this evening to reports of an altercation at the apartments near Gibson Blvd and 98th St. A male victim was found in the parking lot with severe injuries. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died from his wounds.

Homicide detectives are now arriving at the scene to begin their investigation. This is the second homicide in the last 24 hours investigated by APD. The Duke City is now at 44 homicides for the year.
