Albuquerque –

At 10:30AM, Albuquerque Police located a stolen vehicle and followed it around the Albuquerque area.

Around 1:00PM, the car was seen in the University of New Mexico area where officers pursued the suspect vehicle with air support assistance. The suspect was seen ramming into some barriers and ditched the car in a University of New Mexico Hospital parking garage. The suspect fled on foot and entered the hospital from the pedestrian bridge over Lomas and caused a brief lock down at the hospital.

A multi agency group of law enforcement of Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office, APD, and UNMPD were able to apprehend the suspect outside of the Emergency room entrance. The hospital lifted it’s lockdown immediately after the suspect was taken into custody.

We will update the suspect information and charges when he is booked into Metropolitan Detention Center.
