On December 8, 2024, at approximately 11:53PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 921 California SE for reports of a possible structure fire at a single-family dwelling. Rescue 11 arrived first on scene to working structure fire with smoke and flames showing on the interior of the structure. Engine 11 and Rescue 11 ran an attack line through the front (alpha) side of the building to fight the fire.

The fire was extinguished within nine minutes of their arrival. The residence sustained significant damage, including a partial roof collapse. The residence was unoccupied, and no individuals were displaced.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported during the incident. Albuquerque Fire Rescue Fire Investigators are currently on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. A cause has not been determined at this time. No additional information is available at this time. 

Second Fire at 805 14th St NW

On Monday, December 9, 2024 at approximately 6:50 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 805 14th St NW for reports of a possible vehicle fire in the backyard of a single family dwelling. Engine 4 arrived on scene and reported that a travel trailer behind the residence was fully involved in fire. The fire was isolated to the travel trailer, and did not affect any homes. The fire was brought under control within 13 minutes of their arrival.

There were no reports of injuries to any civilians or firefighters. The property owner was on scene. The owner said that the trailer was unoccupied.

The cause of the fire was undetermined. No additional information is currently available.
