ALBUQUERQUE –
New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler was flanked by FBI Special Agent in Charge Raul Bujanda, U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico Alexander M. M. Uballez, and New Mexico Department of Public Safety Secretary Jason Bowie to provide the media with an update on the manhunt for cop killer Jaremy Smith.
NMSP Chief of Police Weisler wasted no time in delivering Smith a stern message.
Jarmey Smith, we are coming for you. I implore you to turn yourself in and surrender peacefully. There’s been enough death and despair. But if he does not, I guarantee you this. We will find him. There is nowhere he can run. There’s nowhere he can find. Where he can hide. Where we will not find him. If anyone else had contact with him, please do the right thing and come forward now with your information.

DPS Secretary Jason Bowie said Smith is very violent.
When something like this happens, we often look for immediate answers, and very often we look to either mental health or behavioral health issues. And while I’m certain that that inflicts many in our society, we can just turn to Las Cruces as an example, where that certainly applies. I’m here to tell you that there are some people in our society, they’re just violent.
They’re calculated, deliberate in their actions. They stop at absolutely nothing to prey on others. And it’s exactly what we experienced within New Mexico State Police yesterday. Jarmey Smith, is certainly that just a violent person with a long criminal history that obviously had no regard for anyone that he comes into contact with.
-DPS Secretary Bowie
Smith is a violent human that will take anyone’s life in the escape of custody. Call 911 and let police know his location if you see him.
Justin and his wife coached my son’s soccer team last year. His daughter is in my son’s class at school.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the friends and family of one of N.M best.
Thank you for being you Justin.
New Mexico police officers are pussies. The chief is crying and he needs to seek a counselor. I am sure Justin was a good guy. May he rest in peace. Upon information and belief, the dead guy will be buried and the perp might get caught. I taught youth soccer for 7 years.
