According to a social media post on Facebook, the NMSP announced that:

At this time New Mexico State Police responding to shots fired call in Guadalupe County off Waller Road. Home owners reported they were checking on their livestock when one of them noticed a dark figure running through the tree line.

Reporting party stated, heard two shots being fired at them.

Male subject was wearing brown jacket and a cap.
Male was last seen headed in the northwest direction. New Mexico State Police officers are on scene at this time.

Area is still active, please avoid that area. If you see anyone fitting that description please call the New Mexico State Police or 911.

We know that the NMSP launched their helicopter, Able 7, around 3:50 PM. It headed east in the vicinity of Santa Rosa and landed about thirty minutes after taking off. The helicopter appeared to land near Vaughn. It returned to Albuquerque sometime later. We believe the inclement weather was a factor in the helicopter not being able to make it to Santa Rosa.

We have a reporter attempting to make it to Santa Rosa.

This is a developing story and we will update you if we learn more information.
