Man Caught with Missing Child by U.S. Marshals

Albuquerque, N.M. – According to an email that was released by the U.S. Marshals Service District of New Mexico – The Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team (USMS-SWIFT), located and safely recovered a missing/endangered juvenile, who had been missing since December of 2021. That is when the child was reported missing as a runaway.

The missing juvenile was recovered following the arrest of Yordon Hernandez-Perez, age 39.

Hernandez-Perez was wanted for trafficking a controlled substance-methamphetamine (with

intent to distribute) and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer (during an arrest).

The statement goes on to say that law enforcement found a stolen firearm, and they also recovered multiple rounds of ammunition.

“Recovering a missing child is absolutely the biggest priority for our agency,” said Sonya K.

Chavez, US Marshal for the District of New Mexico. “Returning this child to safety and bringing the subject to justice were possible through good partnerships and solid investigation,” she

added.

Hernandez-Perez was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center, following his arrest.
