Man Charged with Numerous Felonies After Wild Chase

Albuquerque –

Yesterday, we were on the scene of a wild chase as police were following a felon throughout Albuquerque and the Town of Bernalillo. The chase had a dramatic conclusion on 4th street just north of Alameda with APD police officers having guns and non-lethal weapons drawn on two suspects.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Clark Ferrell, a 54-year-old resident of Los Lunas, who led multiple police agencies on the chase.According to a criminal complaint, an APD officer observed the Subaru Forester in the parking lot of a Motel 6 located at 1000 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE. The officer saw Ferrell enter the driver’s seat, and a female got into the passenger seat. The officer requested backup for a car stop, but eventually, the two individuals drove off. A traffic stop was attempted, and the car fled.

The complaint goes on to say that the female with Ferrell was his girlfriend. She told officers she attempted to stop Ferrell from fleeing, but he refused her pleas. The female was questioned by APD and released.Ferrell invoked his 5th amendment right and did not speak with officers about his destructive afternoon throughout the Middle Rio Grande Valley.

He was charged with unlawful taking a motor vehicle, resisting evading or obstructing an officer, leaving a scene of an accident, false imprisonment, and driving while his license is revoked (DWI related). He also had a few felony and misdemeanor warrants.
