Albuquerque – Today at around noon, Albuquerque Police officers observed a stolen vehicle driving through Albuquerque’s war zone. Police began to use law enforcement tools including air support to track the vehicle and officers began to track it throughout the city from a distance.

(Story Continues)

The sedan decided to leave Albuquerque on I-25 northbound and exited at the Town of Bernalillo on US550. Town of Bernalillo Police and Sandoval County Deputies assisted in that jurisdiction until the sedan stopped at a local gas station in Bernalillo apparently to refuel. The driver and passenger were almost apprehended by Bernalillo Police at the gas station, but the vehicle once again fled. ABQ RAW observed the maniac driver and his female passenger driving south bound back towards Albuquerque on NM313 with only one working wheel. Sparks could be seen flying onto the roadway from the deflated cars steel wheels scraping the roadway. The vehicle fell apart and finally came to a stop on fourth street north of Alameda and a tense scene unfolded as the couple inside surrendered. The pair were taken into custody without further incident and the driver will more than likely face numerous felony charges related to this multi-county chase involving at least five law enforcement agencies.
