Officers originally responded to 8715 Central Ave., S.W. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at around 11:30AM to reports of a stabbing.
The initial investigation determined two men were traveling in a white Dodge truck west on Central Avenue and swerved around three people(two males and a female) it was reported that the trio were walking in the middle of the roadway. The three individuals approached the men in the truck on foot in front of the Breaking Bud Dispensary.
One male suspect kicked the 73-year-old man who was the passenger in the truck, knocking him to the floor. The other male suspect was armed with a knife, and a fight ensued between two suspects and the two victims who were in the truck.
APD says a Good Samaritan witnessed the attack on the 73 year old victim, and came to his defense fighting off the offenders. Both victims were stabbed multiple times in the chest area. The female who was seen with both suspected male individuals prior to the altercation walked away east without ever engaging in the altercation.
