Albuquerque –

On October 29th, 2026, 24-year-old Malakai Teller was pulled over in the War Zone by a motor officer. Teller’s vehicle had suspended registration and no insurance which caught the officers attention. During the traffic stop the officer told Teller his car would be towed.

Teller decided that having his car towed was not the best option for himself and he fled from the traffic stop. He fled east bound along Zuni Ave near Moon. Several APD officers saturated the area to find his hiding place. His car was spike stripped and he decided to ditch it near Zuni and General Patch. He then took off on foot towards the 9300 block of General Patch NE.

Officers saw Teller duck into one of automotive repair shops property and a perimeter was quickly established. The APD K9 unit responded to the scene and they started clearing the properties one by one to find the fleeing driver. Over a loud speaker announcements could be heard by everyone warning Teller about the impending deployment of the fur missile.

Teller was eventually found by the fur missile out of our camera view and the dog sank his teeth into him. APD officers walked Teller out of the property with him showing signs of resisting the K-9 since he was covered in blood. AFR Rescue checked him out and transported him to a local hospital for most likely would be several stitches. The criminal will now go through life with permanent markings and scars on his body courtesy of the APD K-9 unit.

Teller was charged with aggravated fleeing law enforcement, no drivers license, no vehicle registration, improper display of registration, and 3 felony warrants.
