Albuquerque –
Around 2:15 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department was responding to an unrelated call when they heard shots fired to the west of them. A few minutes later, a 911 call came in about a man in a wheelchair shooting at a car near the ART bus platform at Central Ave. and Louisiana Ave.
New Mexico State Police were in the area and observed the man in the wheelchair being wheeled away by another person. A witness stated that the man passed the gun off to the assistant and fled from the area. The man in the wheelchair was captured without incident by APD and State Police.
While on the scene, the people near the bus stop claimed they did not see anything and had no idea who the suspects were.
There were no immediate victims in this case, and it appears no bullet casings were found as evidence.
We will update this story if the man in the wheelchair will be charged with felony crimes.
