APD Crime Scene Specialists comb the street for evidence near the scene of Albuquerque’s latest homicide.
Albuquerque, NM –
On Friday, July 21, 2023, the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) officers responded to a report of a homicide at the entrance to the Icon Cinema and Sprouts mall, located at 13120 Central Ave SE.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, approximately 25-30 years old, dead on the sidewalk. On scene we observed that the victim had a backpack next to their body and appeared to have a gunshot wound to his chest.

For the Albuquerque Metro area, this is the 84th homicide for 2023.

The police and the courts will ultimately decide if the killing was a crime. But the medical examiner determines the cause of death.
