Albuquerque –

On March 25th, 2025, at around 10PM near Louisiana Blvd. and Central Ave. NE. the Albuquerque Police Department was notified of a stolen Volkswagen Jetta in the area.

According to a criminal complaint, APD officers were able to locate the stolen Jetta and it sped off at a high rate of speed. The car was seen going westbound on Copper and it slammed into an Albuquerque Police sergeant’s vehicle. Other officers shortly arrived and detained 3 people who were in the stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen car was identified as 39-year-old Andrew Sandoval.

“Our officers deserve to go home safely to their families The fact that a convicted felon was out on the streets in a stolen car, nearly killing one of my officers is incredibly frustrating,” said Chief Harold Medina.

The APD sergeant sustained injuries to his head and leg from Sandoval’s cretinous felonious behavior. The complaint goes on to say, officers interviewed the occupants of the vehicle and they all identified as Sandoval as the driver. The passengers also stated they did not know the vehicle was stolen and tried to get out of the vehicle before the mayhem.

The complaint goes on to say, Sandoval was taken to UNMH where he was treated for his injuries and spoke with officers. He denied being the driver and held on to that alibi up until he was released from the hospital. He told officers he was sorry and did not mean to get anyone hurt that night.

Sandoval is charged with driving the stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing law enforcement, aggravated battery upon a peace officer, various moving violations, and he also had outstanding felony warrants.

  1. I watched this accident happen on the business cameras. Cops were chasing this guy like benny hill. This guy runs the light at wyoming going west on copper and hits the cop that’s chasing him. Cop car takes out my fence. Everyone got out on their own. Pray for the officer. His cruiser did stuff I had never seen before, including surfing on it’s roof over a steel fence and then landed a standing back flip. You think i’m kidding…

  2. Dems are not happy, until repeat felons take lives. Tomorrow Land is #1 in crime and #50 in education. Dems don’t want to solve problems, they want to enable it, and blame anyone who tries to fix it. Dems throwing money at it, without a solution, is how we got bidenomics. A trillion dollars was spent on illegals under biden and the dems. Got rent?

  3. “Dems” are no more to blame for this than anyone else. There have been just as many non-dems involved in our government over the years. We are ALL at fault as a society for not participating sufficiently in our government.
