Albuquerque Metro Area –

University of New Mexico Hospital and Presbyterian have moved to “crisis standards of care” to deal with the high new number of COVID-19 cases in the metro area.

The designation gives hospitals “standardized, equitable procedure for making decisions on who receives medical care.”

“Non-medically necessary” procedures are expected to be delayed at the beleaguered facilities for anywhere between 30 to 90 days.

It is unclear how long this designation will last.
