Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Rider in Albuquerque

NE Albuquerque –

Around 1:40PM, a sports bike type motorcycle was involved in a crash that resulted in the rider being thrown from the bike. Albuquerque Police Department and rescue personnel arrived on scene to find a man dead from the crash.

While APD was conducting their investigation, we noticed debris and a helmet on the ground. It is unclear if the rider was wearing a helmet.

Northbound San Mateo Blvd. was shut down at Mountain Rd. while officers were investigating the crash.

It is a busy corridor for traffic and businesses. Many people at the local shops and neighborhoods stood on the corners talking with each other on what they heard or saw.
