Albuquerque –
On May 22nd, 2026, just before 2:25 p.m a motorcycle was involved in a crash at the intersection of Central Ave and Louisiana Blvd. According to a 911 caller, the motorcycle rider was reportedly bleeding heavily at the scene.
When APD officers arrived, they rendered medical aid to the rider until Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews arrived. The rider was then transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and later updated to stable condition.
While on scene, we observed a separate person who was somehow involved being transported for their injuries.
Officers have closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Louisiana north of the crash scene while officers investigate. Entrance and exit access to the Downs Casino at the Expo New Mexico Fairgrounds may be modified. This is also impacting ART bus traffic.
