The New Mexico State Police are investigating a shooting involving federal and local law enforcement on Thursday, July 23.

The shooting was reported around 11:35 AM at 12704 Piru Blvd. SE, which is southwest of Central Ave and Tramway Blvd. The incident involved personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and DEA agents were not injured. The suspect reportedly has minor injuries and is in custody.

A reporter is at the scene gathering additional information. At the location, we observed NMSP officers entering a two-story residence on the south side of Piru Blvd. We have contacted the NMSP for additional details.
