The crash involved at least two vehicles, reportedly a semi was overturned across lanes of Interstate 25 northbound, and sparked a vehicle fire.

At least one person was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. A second person was purportedly transported by Albuquerque Ambulance Service, their condition has not been released.

Traffic is being diverted from northbound I-25 at Gibson Blvd or, if necessary, at Avenida Cesar Chavez. Some southbound traffic is also being directed to exit at Avenida Cesar Chavez. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and expect significant delays.

Road closures are subject to change as emergency crews continue their response and NMSP crash investigators work to determine the cause of the accident.
