One Dead Following Shooting on West Side

Albuquerque –

There is Albuquerque Police Department activity in the area of Unser Blvd and Tierra Pintada Blvd NW.

Details remain limited at this time. While on scene, we observed a deceased male on the sidewalk near the Walgreens, next to a gray Hyundai. Bullet casings fired by the suspect were also visible on the ground by Walgreens.

APD is reportedly searching for the suspect involved in the incident.

APD has Unser Blvd NW closed between Tierra Pintada Blvd and Ladera Dr while homicide detectives and crime scene specialists investigate. Drivers should avoid the area and expect delays.

When more information is released by APD, we will provide an update.

UPDATE:

APD sent an update at 9:23 PM which advised that “officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 7 p.m. in the area of Unser Blvd. between Ladera Dr. and Tierra Pintada Blvd. NW. A victim was located in crashed vehicle.“

APD also said “Unser is currently closed in both directions while investigators process the scene.
