Overnight Shooting Marks 107th Murder of the Year

Albuquerque –

Early this morning, around 1:00 AM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near Central Ave SE and Jefferson St NE. When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot.

Officers initiated first-aid measures while awaiting Albuquerque Fire Rescue, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

APD homicide detectives were called to the scene to start an investigation, which is on-going.

This is the 107th homicide for the Albuquerque Metro area for 2025, and the fourth homicide investigation since November 7th. Two investigations were handled by BCSO and two were APD’s.
