Albuquerque –

Around 8:05 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department received a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash near Central Ave and 86th St. Initial information indicates that at least one vehicle ran over the pedestrian, and additional vehicles may have also struck the individual, possibly not seeing them lying in the traffic lanes on Central.

The pedestrian was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital with serious injuries. APD’s Fatal Crash Unit has been called out to investigate.

APD has Central Ave closed between 86th and 90th. After the crash, ART buses were notified of the closure on Central in the affected area, which likely impact bus traffic and service routes.
