Fatal Crash Under Investigation in NE ABQ

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Motor Unit is investigating a fatal crash at Montgomery Blvd NE and Jefferson St NE. Reportedly, two vehicles were involved.

APD’s PIO Officer Chase Jewell said, Albuquerque Fire Rescue transported one person to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Around 9:55 PM, a witness contacted us and reported seeing a body on the ground next to one of the crashed vehicles. The witness stated that one vehicle was on the sidewalk near a traffic pole, while another was seen crashed facing in the oncoming lanes of traffic.

APD has closed Montgomery between Monroe St NE and Washington St NE.
