Albuquerque –
Earlier tonight just before 7:15 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched the area of Central Ave and Louisiana Blvd. According to fire rescue radio transmissions, a person sustained a traumatic injury and was unconscious.
It was confirmed by APD’s Public Information Officer, Detective Chase Jewell, that there was a vehicle-pedestrian collision. The pedestrian had serious, life-threatening injuries. Detective Jewell stated that the pedestrian was transported to the hospital.
Reportedly, the car that struck the pedestrian fled the scene. A video posted online shows over five APD units at the corner of Central and Louisiana at the time of the incident.
APD’s Fatal Crash Team had been called out to investigate.
