Person Barricaded at UNM Dorms, SWAT on Scene

Albuquerque –

This afternoon, Albuquerque Police and University of New Mexico (UNM) Police responded to a dorm on the UNM campus involving a barricaded suspect. APD SWAT officers are also on scene.

Roads around Lobo Village are closed as officers conduct operations.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available, including the identity of anyone taken into custody.

UPDATE:

At 4:55 PM, UNM issued a Lobo Alert which advised:

“URGENT: Police Activity At Lobo Village near building 8. Avoid the area until further notice.

The Albuquerque Police Department is currently conducting an investigation at Lobo Village near building 8 in reference to an incident which occurred last night on Central Ave. Officers are expected to be in the area for a few hours. All suspects related to this investigation are detained at this time.
