Update 2:

APD arrested four suspects in connection to the murder on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, of a man who was shot in an alleyway between Cornell Dr. and Stanford Ave, just south of Central Ave.

Detectives arrested the following suspects on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15. They are each charged with an open count of murder, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence.

·       Tenard Weekly (12/29/2005)

·       Evan Rogers (3/3/2006)

·       Junior Lewis (9/29/2006)

·       Jaylen Hopewell (10/27/2005)

The victim, Eden Rock, 23, met with a woman inside the Frontier restaurant on Wednesday around 10 p.m. They left the restaurant after about 40 minutes and walked around the building and south in an alleyway toward a parking lot.

Surveillance video showed the four suspects exit a grey Jeep Cherokee and hide behind a nearby dumpster. As Rock and the woman walked past the dumpster, the four men charged Rock and knocked him to the ground. One of the suspects, later identified as Tenard Weekly, fired one shot at Rock, then approached him while he was on the ground and shot a second shot. APD’s ShotSpotter system detected two shots fired at 10:47 p.m.

Rock was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of the gunshot wounds.

Detectives said it appeared the attack was pre-planned and Rock was lured to the alleyway where the suspects were waiting to confront him. Witnesses said Weekly and Rock had an on-going feud throughout the day.

Immediately after the shooting, the four male suspects ran to the Jeep Cherokee and fled the area.

Homicide detectives identified Evan Rogers as the driver of a gray Jeep Cherokee that fled from the alleyway following the shooting. Detectives used Automated License Plate Readers to track the vehicle. Detectives eventually located the vehicle at the Lobo Village apartments, 1200 Avenida Cesar Chavez, S.E. Surveillance video showed the same four suspects exit the vehicle at Lobo Village and walk to the building where Rogers was known to live.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Rogers, 24, on Thursday and took him into custody at Lobo Village. Detectives also detained Junior Lewis, 19, at the apartment and later obtained an arrest warrant for him.

On Friday, detectives obtained warrants and arrested Tenard Weekly, 20, and Jaylen Hopewell, 20.
