Person Critically Wounded in Shooting on Central, APD Investigates

Albuquerque –

This afternoon, the Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a shooting near the area of Central Ave NE and Vermont St NE. According to witness reports, the victim was shot multiple times in the middle of the street..

The person shot was transported as a “scoop and go” to a local area hospital, indicating the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police have apprehended one individual in connection with this incident and are actively searching for the shooter. A traffic stop on I-40 westbound was related to this shooting.

APD officers were at Jerry Cline Park collecting evidence where the offender possibly ditched clothing before escaping in another vehicle.
