Person Shot on 4th Street in Albuquerque

Albuquerque –

At approximately 2:50 PM, a shooting was reported in the area of Gene Ave NW and 4th St NW, near the Smith’s Fuel Station. The closest major cross streets are Montaño Rd NW and 4th St NW. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department’s Valley Area Command were dispatched to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found a male who had been shot. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to a local area hospital as a “scoop and go.”

APD, Police Service Aides (PSA), and the New Mexico Nation Guard have blocked northbound 4th Street between Montaño and Sandia Rd NW. Southbound 4th Street is reportedly open at Montaño. As the investigation continues, drivers may encounter additional road closures in the area.

While on the scene, we observed property and clothing of the person who was shot.
