An APD crime scene specialist photographs the scene of a homicide on Montano Rd near Rio Grande Blvd NW.
NW ABQ – Around 5:00AM this morning Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a crash involving a single vehicle into a wall on Montano Rd under Rio Grande Blvd NW. When deputies investigated further they found the driver had been shot dead.

BCSO turned over the investigation to the Albuquerque Police Department who made this a full violent crimes call out. There was a lifted Ford truck with at least two bullet holes on the driver side door with it crashed into a brick wall along Montano Rd.
Witnesses say they heard five shots and the truck struck both sides of Montaño before crashing.
This is an active scene and no other information was available. This is Albuquerque’s 164th homicide of 2022.
