Albuquerque –
Around 6:25 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a shooting in the 440 block of Texas St NE. At least one caller reported that a person had sustained a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived, they observed bystanders rendering medical aid and took over care upon arrival. APD officers and Police Service Aides began blocking off streets in the area.
Emergency medical crews from AFR’s Rescue 5 transported the male to a local hospital. The person’s exact condition is currently unknown.
The shooter reportedly fled, and officers are searching for the suspect.
A witness sent us video from Marquette and Texas, and there is a significant police presence.
APD officers have closed Texas St NE between Copper Ave NE and Marquette Ave NE as they investigate. APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit has also been called out for this shooting.
