Albuquerque, NM –
On July 17th, 2022, Albuquerque Police and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about two individuals that were shot in the head. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Izaiah Bolagh and the passenger was Lesley Bolagh. Also in their vehicle, they had a young child with them.
According to the criminal complaint, Lesley Bolagh would die at the University of New Mexico Hospital from the gunshot wound to her head. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s homicide detectives observed the vehicle with heavy front end damage and bullet holes on its side. They also observed large amounts of blood inside the vehicle with a single fired shell casing.
The complaint goes on to say, Mr. Bolagh said a black vehicle had shot at their vehicle and he initially admitted to investigators that he did not return fire at the other vehicle. A day later BCSO got a call about a bloody gun located in the parking lot of a business. There was video evidence showing Izaiah Bolagh’s vehicle driving into the parking lot and then tossing something out of the vehicle’s window.
A witness stated that the black and the white vehicles were driving in an aggressive manner and he heard at least five gunshots. He then saw the two vehicles go in different directions.
A family member of Lesley Bolagh told investigators that he was told by Izaiah Bolagh, he was racing a vehicle and needed them to lie about the gun saying that it belonged to the deceased, Lesley Bolagh.
No suspect(s) have been identified in the killing of Lesley Bolagh since there is no information about the other vehicle or driver.

Izaiah Bolagh was charged with shooting at or from a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, and child abuse.
This isn’t the first time Mr. Bolagh has fired from a vehicle with a child inside. In 2021, he had a similar incident where he fired at a vehicle during a road rage incident while picking up his child and in that case, he ditched the gun.
