Albuquerque, NM –
On June 22, 2023, at approximately 7:56PM, Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched to the Southwest Heights Church, located at 9800 Benavides Rd SW, in response to a male, later identified as Alfred Duran, who was reportedly bleeding. We learned from witnesses that Duran came into the church choking on his blood and clinging to life. Witnesses reported that Duran was stabbed to death. It also appears that there was a church service going on when Duran came into the building bleeding profusely.

As the investigation has unfolded, the Albuquerque Police Department discovered a vital piece of information—an unidentified individual leaving the scene of the crime was identified in a video screen grab. This person is now considered a person of interest, and APD wants to talk to him.
