Albuquerque, NM – In a proactive move to tackle the rising menace to society we call retail crime, Mayor Tim Kellers staff has partnered with the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) to implement a comprehensive strategy aimed at curbing thefts and ensuring the safety of businesses and consumers in the city.

Recognizing the detrimental impact of retail crime on the local economy and community, Mayor Keller has emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address the issue. The initiative includes increased police presence in retail areas, targeted enforcement operations, and improved communication channels between law enforcement and businesses.

The APD has mobilized specialized units to focus on combating retail theft and identifying organized crime networks involved in illegal activities. These units will work closely with retailers to enhance security measures and share vital information to prevent future incidents.

Mayor Keller expressed his commitment to supporting businesses by stating, “We are not in any way going to follow through on the theft, robbery, and crimes that happen to make us feel unsafe”.

This joint effort serves as a testament to the city’s dedication to creating a safe and thriving retail sector, instilling confidence in both small and large business owners and residents alike. With sustained collaboration and robust measures in place, Albuquerque is poised to deter retail crime and foster a more secure environment for all.
