Shooting in NE ABQ Leaves Man Wounded, Suspect on the Run

Albuquerque –

Around 7pm, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call about a man being shot multiple times and he was in a car near Montgomery and San Mateo Blvd NE. It was indicated that an ambulance was flagged down prior to officers arriving.

The man had multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital by the ambulance. APD officers are in the area establishing scene perimeters, talking to witnesses, and looking for evidence.

Witnesses told officers they saw a sedan fleeing the scene and there were at least three people in the vehicle.

This is a developing story and we will update if we learn anymore information.

  1. The real story here is that the victim IS the suspect. He shot himself and now he’s on the run from the Police. I hope he took himself to the hospital before he fled.
