Albuquerque –
There is a heavy police presence in the area of Buena Ventura and Glorieta. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department’s (APD) Southeast Area command are attempting to apprehend a man who brutally assaulted a woman. The woman was treated on scene and refused to go to the hospital.
For about an hour, officers have been making public announcements (PAs) and trying to get the male to leave the apartment.
APD officers, APD Police Service Aides and Transit Security are blocking numerous roads in the area.
Tactical Units have now entered the chat and will take over negotiations with the stubborn man.
If we learn more, we will update you.
Update:
Just before 2PM, the suspect was taken into custody.
There was another shooting there last September.
