Statement from Lt DelGreco and scene footage

APD personnel canvass the scene of the 400 block Rhode Island NE of a homicide.
NE Albuquerque –
On July 26th, 2022, around 10PM, The Albuquerque Police Department’s ShotSpotter detection system notified dispatch of at least 23 rounds fired near the 400 block of Rhode Island NE. APD officers were able to find a vehicle that was bullet ridden with a male subject deceased on scene.
“No suspect information. We have scattered information.” Lt. Ray Del Greco of APD Violent Crimes Division said.
Neighbors began to meet at the corner of Rhode Island and Copper NE to see the investigation and talk with each other.
“Someone got, got,” said one witness while talking to a neighbor about what happened.

“I thought I heard fireworks,” said another neighbor. This is Albuquerque’s 99th homicide for 2022. That is 14 ahead of 2021 numbers at this time last year.
