Stabbing Happens After College Party Fight, 1 Arrested

Albuquerque –

Around 11PM, the University of New Mexico Lobo Village was a scene of a violent fight that left one teen stabbed 10 times and one arrested for the stabbing.

911 calls came about a party that got out of hand with a fight. UNM Police arrived on scene and found a male victim with ten stab wounds in his back. Witnesses advised officers the suspect fled the party.

A witness told police the victim grabbed a female by the waist to move her out of the way. This upset 19-year-old Pedro Sanchez of Santa Fe, NM and a fight erupted. The two males fought and it went to the ground. Witnesses said Sanchez used a pocket knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim was transported to UNMH in stable condition. He was able to identify Sanchez. UNMPD was able to track down Sanchez a short time later. From the looks of the mug shot it looks like Sanchez was severely losing the fight and has numerous bruises on his face.

He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
