SW Albuquerque –
This afternoon, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a situation in the southwest part of Albuquerque near Gibson and 98th Street. A suspect from the call decided to run from the police. APD was able to apprehend him.
Some sort of medical episode occurred, and the suspect died at the scene. This will be a multi-agency call-out due to the fact that the suspect died in custody.
The area of 98th and Gibson will be closed down as investigators piece together what happened.
We will update the story when we learn more information.
