When deputies arrived they were told by witnesses that an older model blue Monte Carlo pulled up to a bus stop and shots were fired from a rifle at the male. The suspect is described as a Spanish adult male in a black shirt. The suspect vehicle set off an attempt to locate to all deputies in the area and they spotted a similar looking vehicle nearby. A traffic stop was conducted on a Monte Carlo near the shooting and it ended up not being the suspect vehicle. Deputies have continued searching the area for a suspect.
BCSO Investigators have corrected the suspect vehicle as being an El Camino instead of what the witness originally described as a Monte Carlo.
This is Albuquerque’s 130th homicide of 2022.
