SW Albuquerque –
There was a fatal hit and run on Sunday that killed a 7-year-old boy and injured his father near Central Ave and Tingley Dr near the River of Lights. The family was crossing Central Ave legally at a crosswalk. A four seater side-by-side hit the father and son after running a red light and fled the scene. The child did not survive the crash and the father was transported to UNMH.
Sources have confirmed to us, Albuquerque Police received a tip from a neighbor about an off road vehicle being pushed into a house by four individuals at the 200 block of 65th Street NW. APD conducted a search warrant on the house Monday night and found an ATV with heavy damage.
The suspect is on the loose and sources say he has gone south in the Middle Rio Grande area. We have not confirmed the suspect name but through records we have found a resident with many speeding and ATV on street violations that lived at the residence.
We will update the story when we have more information and when the suspects are caught.
