Albuquerque –
Long time problem felon 21-year-old Adelino Strader was on the radar for the Albuquerque Police Department for drug dealing and fleeing law enforcement in the last month or so. So on February 11th, 2026, Strader was once again seen selling drugs in northeast Albuquerque.
According to the criminal complaint, Strader sold drugs to an APD undercover officer and let marked units know that the transaction was successful and to pull him over. During the traffic stop, Strader decided to live out his Grand Theft Auto fantasies and fled from law enforcement.
He drove horribly and crashed into an innocent person’s truck and didnt even check on the other drivers condition before pretending he was a track star and fleeing from pursuing officers on foot. Strader crossed over the I-40 bridge and proceeded southbound on Carlisle Blvd.
APD officers pursued him on foot for a few blocks and ended up in the Whole Food’s/American Home parking lot at 2100 Carlisle Blvd. Officers were able to take him into custody after the brief foot and auto chase across Carlisle.
Strader told officers he ingested the drugs that he was trying to sell and so he was taken to UNMH for evaluation.
Strader already had an warrant for fleeing law enforcement from earlier this month and now his new charges are trafficking controlled substances, aggravated fleeing law enforcement, tampering with evidence, and resisting/evading/obstructing officers.
Strader has a pending pre-trial detention to determine if he should be held until trial.
