The Albuquerque Police Department’s Homicide Unit is starting a suspicious death investigation near Central Ave and Rio Grande Blvd SW.

Officers responded to reports of a deceased individual around 8:00am. During the preliminary investigation, officers determined it was a suspicious death.
We observed detectives combing over the area near the south side of the Rio Grande River.
Police released no additional information, saying the investigation remains active and further details will be provided when available.
