Albuquerque –
Around 3PM, the Smith’s at 200 Tramway Blvd. SE. called APD to report that a group of teens robbed the store of liquor and ran out.
The store employees observed the teens running down the street to 13301 Central Ave NE and they all entered a McDonald’s. Albuquerque Police Department Foothills area command officers arrived at the McDonald’s and surrounded the building. Officers made entry and got three teens into custody.
One of the teens smiled for our camera and was proud that he was robbing liquor and wasting taxpayer dollars. The other two seemed a bit more timid about the consequenses they were facing. All three juvenile delinquents were searched and placed into the back of patrol units while APD officers conducted their investigation.
McDonald’s was advised to shelter in place while all this was all going on, but the drive thru remained open happily delivering orders to customers.
We will not have much more information to add to this story since the offenders are all minors and our antiquated ridiculous state juvenile justice laws protect violent teens and the laws will prevent us or members of the public to know exactly what will happen to these teens.
