Violent Crimes Call Out in SE Albuquerque

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 3:15 PM, officers were dispatched to the South Pointe Village Mobile Home Park at 11100 Gibson SE, after receiving reports of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, APD officers discovered an individual that was in in grave condition and fighting for their life. The injured person was transported to the hospital, where they were reportedly still in critical condition.

The incident may have been the result of some kind of road rage incident.

The victim has not yet been identified. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.**

Given the nature of the incident, APD has classified it as a violent crimes call-out.

We heard APD may have a suspect in custody for the shooting, we will update you as we learn more.

UPDATE:**

On July 20, 2023, at 10:20PM, APD’s civilian PIO, emailed the media to inform us that they had learned more about the shooting that occurred South Pointe Mobile Home Park, located at 11100 Gibson Blvd SE. According to the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), the shooting followed a confrontation following a road rage incident.

The victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital and is not expected to survive his wound. APD homicide detectives are now investigating the shooting.
